Patton Sober Living has been a wonderful transition for our son. After completing his in-patient treatment and getting sober for the first time in quite a while, Patton House gave him a safe environment to get his feet back under him and prepare him to live on his own again. John Patton and his staff provide a nurturing place for a young man to understand what it means to be sober, what the 12 steps mean in the real world and what a supportive community can do to help get through the rough patches in life. As parents, Randy was our anchor and our guide through all this. He was always there when we needed him. He helped give us context to what we heard from our son and explain what was going on. When we were anxious, Randy was a calming influence explaining how the environment and structure were just what our son needed. He reminded us when our son hit a rough patch that it was good it was happening while he was in a loving, supportive environment. It was hard being away from our son as he went through this, but Randy was our eyes and ears and we knew he had our son’s back. Knowing Randy was there and taking care of our son allowed us to also move our lives back to a more normal rhythm. We can’t express enough our gratitude to Randy and John and all the staff at Patton House for all they did for our son.

Patton house is what worked for me. After 7 years of in and out of rehabs, detox centers and hospitals this place made it finally click for me. Doing 6 months here was life changing. Staff and client's made me feel welcomed and they set me up with the structure that I needed. I would highly recommend Patton house to anyone who is struggling. The young clientele made me realize that I can have friends my age who don't use or drink and begin to finally feel normal. Their program is set up to ease you back into life and really put you on a successful path for your future. I couldn’t be more thankful for the owner and the stuff for really giving me another chance at life when I was truly in my worst state.

Patton Sober Living made a big difference in the life of our son. He made great strides during the months he was there. Austin and Randy were in touch regularly letting us know how he was progressing. It's definitely a big investment, but worth the outcome. Know that your son will have continuous access to a group of men who are dedicated to helping young men on the road to recovery.

I was a resident at Patton Sober Living after getting out of treatment. I had the structure that I needed to continue my journey through sobriety. Patton Sober Living provided me with a community of love and support through my journey despite past mistakes. The staff and John Patton were all very influential towards my recovery and they held me accountable each week. This place felt like a new home where I could rebuild my life and use it as a jumping off point towards a brighter future. While I was at Patton Sober Living, I was able to work through the 12 steps, regain my motivation for work and productivity and begin working on a college degree. Without Patton Sober Living, I know that many of the things I have accomplished wouldn’t be possible. The staff and the community have pushed me to be a better version of myself, who my friends and family always knew I could be. God blessed me by guiding me to Patton Sober Living, a place where I could reintegrate into society, learn how to start my journey in recovery outside of rehab and begin working to become the best me that I can be.

I was a resident here for six months and immensely enjoyed my time living at Patton Sober Living. Coming out of treatment, I was hesitant about moving into sober living but it ended up being the best decision I could've made. Patton Sober Living gave me the structure I needed to be able to navigate my sobriety and accountability to help me achieve my goals. I received a lot of help from staff and other residents when I struggled and was brought up and celebrated when I did well. I'm extremely happy that I was able to be a part of this program and I can honestly say that it changed my life.

10/10 would recommend. Patton House gave me the structure and accountability I needed to live my life without substances. The house managers and program managers all truly cared about my sobriety and were willing to do whatever it took help me on my journey. The 12 step focused requirements taught me not only how to live my life on a spiritual basis without drugs or alcohol, but they taught me how to manage my time and become more organized. I also have never heard of a sober living where the founder/owner, John Patton, shows up every Tuesday to address each member of his homes individually to see how they are doing and individualize their program. Patton house has 100% saved my life.

I want to thank the Patton House for their commitment to structure, the 12steps, and accountability, and their care and concern and dedication to our son. He saw young men his age, having victory of their addictions. Patton house from the first week, gave him the hope that he could do the same!! Our son was a resident there for a year, and made it to Stage 4 and was able to leave Patton House with all the tools and daily habits to live a clean and sober life. Patton house understands that their residents need not only the program and the house but safe outside relationships, such a spiritual relationships, exercise and the recovery community in Dallas. John, Randy and Austin not only made a commitment to our son but a commitment to us. We received very detailed, caring, calls from Austin & Randy every two weeks. Through this program our son’s character changed and he learned that the little things matter and patience , he was able to enroll in junior college, and complete his first year, and he is active in sharing his testimony in the recovery community. along with finding a thriving spiritual community. He is now living the life he always wanted to live. We see the life and sparkle in his eyes again , and his desire to plan and follow his dreams. It wasn’t always easy for him, but through the love , dedication, and support of Randy Austin and John and his sponsor , he learned what it will take everyday to stay clean. God’s timing and leading us to Patton house has been an amazing blessing to our family. We are forever grateful.

Patton House was recommended to me by my son’s therapist. It has proven to be an excellent program. The strong leadership, accountability, and structured community was not only crucial for my son’s continued sobriety, but the skills developed at Patton House have equipped him for living a full life. An addict for 5 years,, my son’s life has completely changed. He is now a
college-bound young man, committed to working with other young men in recovery. I highly recommend Patton House. It is the best sober living program in the country.
-E.E. (Parent)
Patton House has been an answer to prayer. It gives young men structure, responsibility, and sets the bar high. It also allows choices and earned freedom which they need during their transition. John, Randy, and Austin all have unique gifts that makes them each great mentors. Thanks to each of you for your commitment to helping others and being light in the darkness.
-J.W. (Parent)
Patton house has been so good for our son. They have provided the structure and counseling he has needed to move forward . I have been very thankful for how they have communicated with me and together we have come up with creative ways to help him meet his specific needs. It’s clear they have a heart for the young men staying there and are always looking for ways to help them reach their goals. When our son relapsed he could have picked anywhere to go to but he knew he needed to go back to Patton House because they had the program that he knew would work for him. I think that says a lot ! I am thankful they took him back and gave him another chance . He is now moving on to finish college on campus! They have helped with that step as well and the accountability he needs moving forward .
-S.S. (Parent)
My son has struggled for years with anxiety ,drugs and alcohol and has been in and out of many facilities all over the U.S. This time is different , Patton House has given him a new life. It is a safe and secure structured environment. Their program offers the fundamental tools and cares for success and recovery in which everyone holds each other accountable. My son has grown tremendously, I am grateful for the house manager Randy. He is very passionate about helping others , he has lead and guided my son to go back to School and get his G.E.D.Now he has enrolled at UTI for a mechanics degree. He has never been so engaged. I want to thank John Patton and is team for giving my son a new life.
-C.B. (Parent)
Patton Sober Living gave me the structure that I needed post-rehab to keep me accountable, alongside the necessary freedoms to begin making constructive decisions for myself once again. John and Randy’s level of care and dedication to their residents is unmatched by any other facility I have been to, as they remain my only recommendation for young men early on their road to recovery.
-Will C. (Former Resident)
I was a resident at Patton Sober Living and it completely changed my life for the better. The structure is incredible and it focuses on your well-being, your recovery, your physical fitness, and having fun! Thanks to their amazing structure and dedicated staff members I was able to work all of the steps and start a personal business all thanks to John Patton. I %100 recommend this sober living for anyone who needs help or aftercare.
-Riley G. (Former Resident)
Patton Sober Living took my son from inpatient treatment and in working with him for 6 months, he grew exponentially in every area of his life. I have my happy son back. Sober for more than 8 months now, he is at the end of his 12 steps and has three sponsees. He has spoken at his former treatment facility, lead AA meetings there, and is leading an alumni group for them. I’m so thankful for the expert care and leadership John and Randy and other staff provided to help my son reach his full potential.
-Angela G. (Parent)
Patton House facilitated a period of growth in my life unrivaled by anything else I've ever been offered. I thought inpatient rehab was where the majority of my sober life was supposed to be built and sober living was just the place where they take off my training wheels on my way back home. I was proven wrong. Patton house found me a sponsor on day 3 and by week three I was on step 4. By the time I left, I had been blessed with my spiritual awakening as the Big Book of AA promised by working the 12 steps entirely, I found God again, reenrolled in college, lost weight, reconnected with my entire family, but most of all I had so much fun by bonding and making lasting friendships with other guys who started off as lost as I was. Eternally grateful to John and the managers.
-Alex M. (Former Resident)
My son came to Patton Sober Living about 8 months ago. He desperately needed help after struggling for years with opioid addiction. His stay there has been amazing and life changing. They have friendly counselors and a psychiatrist that are involved with the clients. They focus on healing the Mind, Body and Spirit, through implementing a 12-step program, free gym memberships, and individual counseling.
My son is now active in the recovery community, working, working out and all around happy.
I would highly recommend this facility for any friend or family member who is struggling with addiction.
I just want to thank all the staff at Patton Sober Living, especially Tim Grigsby, thank you for your dedication that helped change my son's life.
May God bless all of you!
-Thea F. (Parent)
Top notch staff, program, and facilities. John and Randy really have a heart for what they’re doing while also doing a great job at it. Would really say this place is worth every dime spent, if the person wants to change their life.
- Reid Y. (Former Resident)
Patton Sober Living was great for my son and family. All aspects for a positive road to recovery were covered. They continued with the lessons of what it takes to remain sober: 12 step program, importance of Higher power ( God for us), therapy and counseling, accountability, job support, keeping his body and mind healthy with exercise, and great open communication with the director. They have as well been a great help as he transitions to life without living under their constant care. He could never have done this on his own without the support he got from Patton House, and because of the Patton group he has a much better path in his future. Thank you Patton House.
- Pamela J. (Parent)
I moved into patton sober living in may of 2016 broken and hopless after just finishing my 6th 30 day treatment in a 12 month period. I had been to many other sober livings previously and a house that only held me accountable with minimum structures put in place had proven not to be successful in the past. I quickly got busy in the dallas area finding work and with in a 12 step program locally with guidance from Tim Grigsby and John Patton and slowly went from a life of hopelessness and unhappiness to being able to be of service and grattitude. I truly attribute to patton sober living with saving my life. I had to do the work but they made it possible by showing me how and holding me accountable even if I didnt always like. Patton sober living has worked miracles in my life and my family's life returning me my sanity, and my parents their son.
- Dan P. (Former Resident)
The Patton Sober Living Program works! It saved our son and we will forever be thankful. These people truly care about each other!
- John N. (Parent)
Patton House was exactly what our son needed after completing his 90 day treatment program. The structure, opportunities, guidance and support provided a healing environment for him to strengthen his recovery skills, start community college and find a job and start a new way of life. The staff, especially Randy Cox, did an excellent job handling our needs and requests concerning our son’s recovery efforts. JD, the House Manager, even helped our son find a car to purchase. When we had any concerns at all, the staff quickly stepped in to redirect our son and calm our fears. All in all, our son really greatly benefited from his time at Patton House. He is now living in Dallas, sober, in his own apartment, working and going to school. He knows if he ever needs someone to lend a helping hand, the staff at Patton will always be there for him.
- Renee B. (Parent)
I’ve been a resident at this house for a year now and I can’t thank the staff on how grateful I am for teaching me how to live life in a healthy way. The staff is very helpful, kind, genuine, invested in your success and recovery and have definitely taught me new coping skills to deal with life in life terms. I’d definitely recommend this place to those who are true about their recovery and are looking for a life changing experience!!
- Leonidas D. (Former Resident)
We live in NW Louisiana. My son spent a few months after rehab at PSL. He has been home a few weeks and is doing so well. He has continued the program they had in place (meetings, gym, spiritual, a counselor ...) so grateful to have found this program. He even got in the habit of making his bed. He stayed on track with his online school and will graduate on time.
- Jodi G. (Parent)
My son has had a 7 year history with drug addiction. He was in a 90 day rehab and then needed a sober living house after completing their program. Patton House came highly recommended by the rehab we had used. We spoke with John Patton, the founder and decided this was the best placement for him. He was there for one year, and our money could not have been more well spent. They have a very structured environment, and hold each member accountable. They use consequences if they do not obey the rules. They have psychiatric care and counseling available to each young man. They walk alongside each member and teach them how to live a more meaningful and productive life. They truly care about each and every person that lives there. There is weekly communication to parents with the director, Randy Cox.I cannot say enough about how Randy walked beside me through this journey as a parent. He was always available and if we needed info or help, he was quick to respond to our needs. All the house managers at Patton are awesome young men, who have walked in the shoes of the addict and are active in the recovery community. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the people at Patton are. You can tell from the care and love they give, that this is a calling to them and not just a job. I got to know Randy and Aaron well during my son's time there, and consider them to be like members of my own family. We will never be able to repay them for the wonderful job they do!! I unequivocally recommend Patton house to anyone whose son is struggling with living the sober life.
Patton Sober Living is a place where change happens IF you're willing to do the work. And if so, it's an amazing place to focus on yourself and your sobriety.
- Emily B. (Parent)
I came home from 60 days of treatment at a very respected facility in Kentucky. They highly recommended Patton House, but I was reluctant to enter any kind of sober living environment, so I decided against it. I thought I was ready to take on the everyday challenges again and work the AA program on my own -- I lasted two days.
With the help of my sponsor we reached out to John (owner) and Randy (program director). They didn't mince words with me, so I knew exactly what I was getting into. I moved into Patton House the next day.
And now 5 months later I can say without question this experience has changed me. 24 years of trying to kill myself every time I went out, countless relationships destroyed, immeasurable financial loss, several DWIs and other legal issues, heated family conflicts, and having my pancreas nearly explode were not enough to get me to stop drinking. It wasn't until getting to Patton House that I could almost entirely focus on my recovery with the support of all the staff and other motivated residents.
Some guys clearly don't want to be there and that's completely understandable as most don't realize what's in their best interest -- their priorities are elsewhere. Of course, I was the same way in my late teens and early twenties. I refused to go to treatment or participate in any kind of sobriety program. But that's where these younger guys do have a leg up on me -- they've been to treatment, are at a sober living house, and now have a chance to get clean and sober which I wasn't willing to do until my forties! I hope at least one of them, or maybe even someone reading this review, will learn from my mistakes. Appreciate where you are, work the steps, and it will happen.
I'm extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to live at Patton House. I'm thankful to my family for their support, my sponsor Jeff, and to John and all the staff for being an integral part in my journey towards a new life.
And I ABSOLUTELY recommend Patton Sober Living!
- Taylor S. (Former Resident)
My son was at Patton Sober Living for 6 months following a 90-day inpatient stay. He struggles with procrastination, self-discipline, and anxiety. He had tried to further his education in a University setting twice with no success. He needed a place that provided him structure and accountability. Patton Sober Living provided the environment that he needed to develop new habits and overcome some of his struggles. They custom tailored his program to fit his personal needs. Working with John and Randy he was able to go to school part-time as well as work successfully. The meetings and counseling sessions he attended provided insight for him and I have seen him grow emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Randy kept me informed all along the way and was very effective at setting boundaries and holding my son accountable.
He has now transitioned back home where he is enrolling in classes part time and will continue to work. Patton Sober Living provided the environment he needed for that transition. His future looks very promising and he is on a different trajectory thanks to the people and skills he learned at Patton Sober Living.
- Eddie Shields (Parent)
We have nothing but great things to say about the program at Patton Sober Living. Our son started the program a reluctant participant and is now on staff at the house. We have watched a total transformation of a young man that was depressed and in denial about his situation. John, Randy, Tim and Aaron were patient and firm with him. They kept the core values of the program front and center. Once our son realized that was the best path for him, the transformation occurred. We are very grateful to Patton Sober Living for helping our son navigate a very lost time in his life.
- J.K. (Parent)
This house changed my life. I went to Patton House with no other options just hoping this place would maybe work but honestly had my doubts. When I went in I was talked to about every little detail of the house and the director did a great job explaining everything and making sure I was clear on how the house was ran. They did everything they said they would do and they made me do things I didn't want to do which was exactly what I needed to do to stay sober. Going in there I had no car, license, diploma, bank account or money, happiness, and most of all I had no idea on how to stay sober and could not stay sober to save my life.. but when I left, I had all those things. The managers there all take it very seriously and really do there best to make sure guys are taken care of. It is organized and has a good amount of structure which I believe is good for someone trying to change their entire life for the better. The best part of this house was they didn't just show me how to be sober but they showed me how live life like a good member of society does. I was a resident there for 7 months then an assistant manager there for my last 7 months. I've seen how the staff runs it and they do a phenomenal job. They're very communicative with parents and they do a great job checking in on every client on a consistent basis. I would highly recommend this place to anyone trying to change their life and trying to find a new way of living.
- Cameron D. (Former Resident)
Patton Sober Living is a place where change happens, for residents as well as their families. After our son was initially hesitant to enter a sober living environment, I was referred to John Patton. John listened to our story and was willing to talk to my son himself. I will never forget the relief I felt when the transfer was arranged. That initial relief quickly transitioned into confidence in the program as we met various staff and saw the effects it was having on our son. He welcomed the support he needed and through the practice of new habits, AA meetings, counseling, exercise and daily meditation — a new hope grew where hopelessness had been. He wanted to do the work it took to truly turn his life around.
Though our son was ready for change and we were willing to do anything to save our child, we didn't have the tools to offer him what he needed at this point in his recovery. The caring and experienced staff at PSL did. They modeled healthy behavior and had expectations & consequences in place to support good choices. They provided a safe environment for counseling and peer sharing and accountability. We also received weekly phone calls from Tim and/or Randy (men's directors) who were both gracious and encouraging. Addiction is a family disease and we needed to change also. We had been so afraid of losing our son, but the updates they provided and their willingness to listen to our concerns and work through decisions with us really gave us a much needed sense of calm after several very scary and stressful years. By being transparent about their own struggles and experiences, they helped us understand addiction and how our son may be feeling or thinking. This allowed us to let go of the past and focus on building new, healthy relationships as a family. We visited our son at the house often and always felt welcome. It was clean and well kept, another weekly responsibility of residents.
We feel that these eleven months of learning and practicing sober living and meeting healthy, recovering people gave our son the foundation he needed to be successful. Month by month, we saw our son become more hopeful, more confident and more able to take control of his own life. Our son recently moved out and is finding his "new normal". We are forever grateful to John, Tim, Randy and others for helping our son find his own way and for being instrumental in our family finding joy again. I would highly recommend Patton Sober Living and am forever grateful that God led us to them.
- Carla V. (Parent)
Dear John, please accept my sincere gratitude for the service you and Patton Sober Living have provided for my son, Michael, and our family over the past six months. From the initial phone conversation with you we were in crisis and on through the progress of the last months, you and your staff have been invaluable in guiding both our son and us through healing and recovery. Not only has he benefited immensely from the structure of the program, but our entire family has as well. The mind-body-spirit program at Patton Sober Living has helped him work toward achieving more balance and more self-discipline as he continues to work his recovery program.
I want to express a special word of gratitude to Tim Grigsby and Zach Read, Michael’s house manager. The weekly communication from Tim has been so reassuring as he updated me on both Michael’s progress and setbacks through the program. Tim was always available and responsive with any concerns I had and welcomed any feedback or questions. I greatly appreciated your teams honesty has they have helped keep me on the right track with establishing appropriate boundaries for me as a parent. Both Tim and Zach's willingness to attend a family therapy session with us at Michael's IOP was incredible. We truly appreciated Patton Sober Living working cooperatively with the outpatient providers. The insight Tim and Zach were able to provide to the therapist as they were with him on a daily basis and speak openly about with Michael during that session was critical moment over the last six months. They expressed some of the same concerns we had as parents, but they were able to address them through the lens of experience without the emotions or complications of family relationships. I greatly appreciate Tim’s assistance in helping us prepare a contract clearly stating our requirements and countries for Michael moving back home. I would not hesitate to recommend Patton Sober Living to anyone, and I have already done so to several families.
We are grateful to have the opportunity to continue drug and alcohol testing through Patton House for our sons accountability and for our peace of mind as he moves out of sober living. The care and service provided by Patton House has helped our entire family. Our relationship and communication has vastly improved through your guidance and program. We are eternally grateful as you have helped bring needed healing and restoration to our family. Please feel free to use me as a reference!
- Melissa H. (Parent)
Patton Sober living is a great place to go for drug and alcohol recovery if you have the means to pay for it. It's a little expensive, but it helped turn my life around. I've been dealing with a multitude of addictions for the past 8 years, and was never able to make it more than a few months sober. Now I've got almost a year under my belt, and a lot of the reason is because of Patton House.
- Will B. (Former Resident)
Patton House was highly recommended for my son coming out of Capstone Treatment Center in Arkansas. It was the perfect fit for him, and the perfect next step coming out of treatment. The structure and high accountability of the program at Patton gave Danny the best environment for learning how to transition from a 90-day program back into real life. He spent 7 months at Patton before moving back to Denver and found it much easier to make the transition into a place of his own. If Danny had not spent time at Patton, his transition out of treatment would have been extremely difficult for all of us. We are so grateful for Tim, Patton’s Program Director, as he kept close tabs on all the young men and their progress. He provided us with regular check-ins to keep us informed about our son’s progress and always made time for us. Every staff member is deeply invested in the success and future of every resident. I think any resident that truly wants a better future for himself will find that Patton House is the right place to start.
- Robin S. (Parent)
I really can't think of anything more frightening and heartbreaking to watch than someone you love fighting the disease of chemical dependency. We are not only faced with the reality that we may lose them to an overdose, car accident or shooting but we are also faced with the reality that we are witnessing the loss of who they were, who we loved.
The drugs and/or alcohol slowly steals them from their families. I wish I could tell you that there was a specific "one size fits all" cure available but there simply isn't. However, there are paths that hold a better chance of success than others. Get them into a sober living facility that really cares about their success.
I highly recommend a minimum of 6 months to a year. Patton Sober Living was an instrumental part of our son's success. Mr. Tim Grigsby truly is the heart of Patton House and I'd trust him with my son's best interest even still today. The great news is that we DO recover. My son has just about 2 years sobriety from everything including his drugs of choice, heroin and xanex. He takes it one day at a time and continue to work his program. It was never easy but it sure was worth it! We knew that but getting him to believe it proved to be more difficult.
Patton House helped him grow in everyday life situations and find acceptance with who he truly was. I will be forever grateful for the role Mr. Grigsby played in teaching him that this disease IS manageable.
Sending prayers, hope and healing for the journey your family is on.
- Angela T. (Parent)
Patton Sober Living is by far the nicest home our son has lived in. This isn't "just" a Sober Living, it's a "Home". It is in a nice and safe neighborhood. The furnishings are very nice and comfortable; its truly a welcoming environment. They don't cram beds in every inch to make more money. There is also safe parking and a garage to store bikes! This is a home anyone would be proud to live in:) They will treat your child with dignity and welcome him with open arms.
There is a lot of structure and accountability, However there is also common sense. They worked with my son on his work schedule; as well as offered their assistance in getting him enrolled in school. The school is within walking distance of the house! The communication with parents is the best we've seen! Even over the Holidays, we were still updated on how our son was doing. We felt totally comfortable that we could text or call anytime 24/7 if we had concerns. Everyone from the House Manager, the Program Director and the Owner truly cared about our son's well being and his recovery. They exceeded every expectation we had. This was not our son's first Sober House, so I can assure you they are not all as well ran as Patton House. We are so very grateful for the time our son lived here; and strongly recommend Patton House!
- Sharon J. (Parent)
I moved into Patton Sober Living on January 13th 2017 after struggling with opiate addiction for nearly 10 years. I had tried countless times to quit on my own as the disease was destroying my life and those closest to me but failed every time. I came to Patton house desperate and hopeless, but was provided with a solution and tools that helped lead me down a path to happiness and freedom. The structure and accountability in place at Patton was exactly what a dope fiend like myself needed. I didn't need a place that was just going to drug test me and tell me not to get high. I can full heartedly say that the John Patton, Tim Grigsby, and the rest of the staff were fully invested in seeing me recover from this disease that was killing me and seeing me grow as a person. There are curfew rules, meeting and gym requirements, as well as daily chores that are made to hold residents accountable. More than that the staff continues to push you to grow in every way possible throughout your stay. With their support I was able manage attending college full time as well as working 40 hours a week all while placing my recovery through the 12 steps as priority number one. At no point did they let me get complacent where I was at in recovery or in life and continued pushing me to better myself in every way possible. I am so grateful that I ended up in a place where the owner and staff are so invested in the recovery of their residents. Patton house not only helped me figure out a solution to my problem, but has helped me grow in every aspect of my life.
- Aaron F. (Former Resident)
Our son has been in a few long term rehabs and our problems always seem to arise in the sober living step. But Patton Sober Living has been an excellent program for our son. He wanted to get sober so he was looking for a program that would hold him accountable and had plenty of structure. A past sober living friend was in Patton Sober Living and told our son about the program. It has all of the elements that are vital for success- individual therapy, group sessions, 12 Step meetings, spiritual component and a high level of accountability. Patton Sober Living is truly on the cutting edge of treatment, especially with family communication and involvement. We are grateful for this dedicated program.
- Patricia H. (Parent)
I just wanted to thank you so much for working with my son and I. I mean that in multiple ways. My son has had addiction issues on top of several complicated learning disabilities for many years. He was diagnosed as a child with the learning disabilities and began to self medicate to compensate in his teens. He has been to three rehabs and every time his attitude and mindset were the same. He was depressed, with very poor self image and hopeless and helpless leading him right back to relapse. I don't think I've had a good nights sleep in years. I just worried he would do something stupid or wait for the call the police had him.
This last time when I got the call I thought for sure this was it. He was very bad. I found a treatment center that worked with him. They didn't give up, but he had a long way to go and it wasn't looking good. The wanted him to come to Patton Sober Living and I was pretty much against it. John and I had been taken advantage of and disappointed a few times by half ass establishments that called themselves a sober living.
I gave in and as soon as John got there I noticed his behavior, his attitude, his outlook on life and his commitment to sobriety start to improve. You all have done wonders. For the first time in years I can have a normal conversation and he is able to show remorse for the things he has done. He has never been able to show a lot of emotion. He holds everything in. We have dinner together and we talk about the future. That has been difficult lately. With his legal issues it has been impossible for him to find a job. He has not given up and he has tried, I mean really tried. If it wasn't for the fact that you and the staff have been so supportive I think he would be losing the battle again. I talk to so many parents out there who go through the same thing. You have let him know that if not for drugs and alcohol he would not be where he is today. He really needs someone who like you guys, John, Tim and the staff to understand and give him a shot at work. He is happy for the most part now and compared to when he was admitted so healthy.
Every night I pray and I thank God for where my son is and finding Patton. You are the best with really lost boys. They were so right. The regimen, the meetings, the direction he is given, and the counseling has been a gift from God. God bless you and your staff and know from the bottom of my heart how thankful I truly am. Thank you so much.

"I believe God guided us to Patton Sober Living" -- My son was in his 6th 30 day inpatient treatment program and getting close to discharge when he told me he didn't know where to go. He had been in many other sober houses before, but would relapse within 2 to 4 weeks and then have to leave. His relapses had become chronic and our hope was waning. I knew there had to be something better out there for him.
I was doing a lot of research on the Internet and was led to Patton Sober Living via other contacts I had made. After contacting them I felt like they offered a program that was structured, offered opportunities to grow and get his life back, of course, it was all up to my son.
He agreed to go and that was the start of his clean and sober life. The opportunity to have weekly therapy, guidance and be held accountable by those he came to respect put him on the right path. He had done 12 step work previously, but here he moved forward with the efforts and guidance needed. Also, there was weekly communication with the program director by phone. We were kept up to date on his progress and challenges and I felt like I could call the Program Director at any time with my concerns or issues.
The weekly groups, 12 step meetings, and the physical outlet of working out at the gym added to the treatment plan that helped him grow and become self sufficient. My son did the work to get clean and sober, but the treatment modalities used at Patton Sober Living made all the difference in getting him there. I feel like I have my son back!

-C.L. (Former Resident)

-W.W. (Former Resident)
-T.L. (Former Resident)
-M.B. (Former Resident)
-M.T. (Parent)
