Drew grew up in Flower Mound, Texas. He was introduced to marijuana in his early teens, and his substance use quickly progressed into alcohol abuse and hard drugs. What began as experimentation developed into a destructive lifestyle that led to legal trouble and serious consequences in early adulthood.
After several attempts to quit on his own, Drew convinced himself he could manage his addiction without fully surrendering to recovery. That mindset led to further relapse and escalating consequences — including severe injuries and a life-threatening car accident that ultimately became a turning point.
In 2022, Drew made a firm commitment to long-term sobriety. Having been exposed to the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous for years, he returned with humility and a willingness to fully work the Twelve Steps. He embraced sponsorship, accountability, and consistent daily action as the foundation for lasting recovery.
Drew credits Patton House with providing an environment of structure, brotherhood, and responsibility that strengthened his foundation. Through active service and disciplined step work, he has built stability and purpose in his life.
Service remains central to Drew’s recovery. He believes sobriety is sustained by helping others navigate early recovery with honesty and structure. Today, he brings lived experience, resilience, and steady leadership to those in his care, modeling responsibility and a life grounded in recovery principles.
